Ah, that takes me back to 2019 Prizm basketball. I didn't know that was a thing they could mess up til I had a card in hand and noticed it.

The releases that are capping 2022 are the straw that breaks the camel's back for modern hobby wax. Pairing this with a recession and cash-flow tightening, 2023 releases are going to rot and rightfully so. Last edited by travuw; 12-19-2022 at 05:29 PM. |

Extremely disappointed in this year's Chrome Update - consistently one of my favorite releases of the year. One Mega Box in, happy with my pulls (two Penas and a Julio debut) but extremely disappointed in the QC - tons of off-center cards, lots of embossing issues.

I had a few cards from Donruss Optic that were not ever close to embossed around the player. I ended up throwing them away they were that bad. Never seen Topps mess up with that like this.

Wow! Fanatics is even worse than I thought. Not sure how that’s possible since I think they are pure #@#@#@#@ already.

I’m probably forgetting something, but I can’t think of another product marketed as “hobby” that was basically a 24 Ct retail box. They usually call them retail boxes in the description. From the looks of the packs I’ve seen they also don’t have the hobby insignia on the outside of the pack. If I preordered from one of the big three, I’d honestly ask for a refund, this is a joke. Just a thought for those who did and are unhappy

I knew the risk and took it. It’s not BO’s fault but my own. As much as I’d like to return it, I have to take full responsibility for my purchasing decision. |

At this point, I think Fanatics is intentionally #@#@#@#@ing the big three and the breakers. How many pallets of this garbage did they order and are going to be stuck with? This is what they get for gouging everyone the last few years. This could be Rubin’s master plan to crush these guys and force them into a liquidity crisis. Buy wax high from Fanatics and sell low because the product is garbage. Force as many of these guys out as possible. At the least, minimize their power.
If that’s what Fanatics is doing, it’s brilliant. Taking a gamble that the consumer will forgive them in the end.

Well - that was brutal. Don't really have anything to say at this point. Some of the ASG cards are super dirty. Kind of gross because I have no idea what it actually is on the cards.
12 boxes - 13 "hits". The box with the green had the extra hit. It would take a major card to feel anywhere decent about the case. The only reason I show the two purple are because those are the two best quality wise I got out of the case and if I had to guess they would PSA 9. From a simple math perspective you would be much much better off buying straight Target Megas at $5/pack. I paid the $170 from BO which equates to a little over $7 a pack - lets say $2 extra per pack for "hobby". At 288 packs per case this is a premium of ~$575 for the only benefit of it seems there is a hit per hobby box. I'd much rather save the $575 and take my odds with Target Megas. I ripped 6 target megas and got a refractor and an auto. If they are priced to match the Target Megas I would think $120 on Topps.com. Anything more than that are you are paying to, what I believe, guarantee some type of hit per box. Last edited by IND2FLA; 12-19-2022 at 06:40 PM. |

Topps has really junked the TC line. Only plus were the logofractors and many of those had quality issues as well. Does not bode well for Sonic.
