I already snagged his Finest Refractor RC needed for the set so I'm good. It's wild to me that Luck and RG3 are cheaper now than Tannehill, Foles, and Cousins were to pick up since I waited until the nowish times. I mean, I understand. I just remember when Luck/RG3 were carrying all of the 2012 product.

You sound like my wife, who also calls football (or any game really) Sports Ball.

Why not just say quarterback? Or even pocket passer? Who calls a QB the "thrower of the football"?

Mahomes mania has reached the point of demoting all other QBs to mere "throwers of the football"!

Lets all take a moment to reflect on his Top 40 list from last year, prior to the season.

He had Russ Wilson and Watson top 5. And they both stunk last year. Kyler #7. Baker was #13, and after this list was made got dumped on the Panther. Who dumped him on LA. Who dumped him on the Bucs

Baker Mayfield 4 spots ahead of Burrow after the 2021 season is certainly something.

Chris Simms sucked as a QB so any list he put together should be taken with a grain of salt

He had the 21 QB ranks with Wilson over Lawrence and Kellen Mond over Fields. I get he has some good takes but also some really terrible ones.

Let’s see.

He’s got three misses (Wilson, Watson, Murray) in the Top 10. A guy in the 15-20 range who should have been Top 5 (Burrow). A guy in the 25-30 range who should have been Top 10 (Lawrence). And a 35-40 guy who proved to be an exciting young gun (Fields).

I wonder who from his 2023 list should be moved up or down based on this formula?

I understood the comment. Physically using your body to throw the football is only one thing a QB needs to do. Jay Cutler was a great thrower of the football, but not a great quarterback.

Then you would say "great Mechanics" or is a "physically gifted" passer. Who refers to a QB as "The thrower of the Football"? Dont defend him!

Well, you could have great mechanics and a weak arm, and that's not what I was getting at. You could be as physically gifted as Jamarcus Russell, but not be up to the mental level needed, so that's not what I'm getting at either.

It seems that other folks understood it just fine

Thank you for clarifying. I'd also add 'being able to make the right decision if things don't break down'.

I didn't think it would be so hard to understand

I'll answer my own question:

Top 10 misses - Jackson, Rodgers, Stafford

15-20 who should be Top 5 - Oof. If I have to pick, I'll say Carr goes off in New Orleans.

25-30 who should be Top 10 - Give me Pickett.

35-40 who will light it up - Give me Samwise "The Tar Heel Hobbit" Howell. (It's actually going to be Anthony Richardson, isn't it?)

Makes more sense that it came out before the 2021 season.

But yeah, intangibles.
Hopefully QJ turns into the new WR1 and helps the wide receiver issues.

Other folks? You mean your one boyfriend. But now I understand.

"Thrower of the football" means a combination of both great mechanics and being physically gifted. While being able to make the right decision if things don't break down. Really having all of the intangibles needed to be a great QB.

Its so obvious to me now. Who knew you come sum all of that up so simply, by just calling him the thrower of the football. You truly write beautifully.

So you take issue with me using terminology that doesn't fit your standards, yet you go ahead and post a list from 2021 and complain that it doesn't match QB ratings from 2022.

You okay today?

I'm great. The link I posted was from 2022. I didn't realize it was of his 2021 list. My apologies goes out to all.

And it isn't my standard. You could have said so many things more eloquently than the "thrower of the Football in your comment. Literally no one else says, whatever you said, to refer to whatever it was you were getting at. If i thought you'd take it so hard, and spend so much time defending it, I wouldn't have made the joke.

Here is the 2022 list. DangerRuss was still rated pretty damn high. And Zack Wilson about Lawrence.

I actually think people use "thrower" "thrower of the football" more often than you think. It's use is "on purpose" clunky. For effect.

Anyways, here's his Top 40 QBs. I'm sure it'll rile a few people up, but let's see what people think about some of the more questionable placements:

dont know anything about football but... is sam darnold the best QB coming from the bench?

The gap between numbers 1 and 2 is a thousand miles wide. The gap between 2/3 and everyone else is equally wide.

Lamar at 5 is an embarrassment. Can’t wait to watch that bum’s season go down in flames again.
