You waited all morning for him! Glad he didn’t let you down.

Cheating culture there. Who was the Yankee pitcher who went to the mound with a glob of the cheating stuff on his neck?

I am to the point that I think more cheating has taken place in the history of baseball that we as fans never knew about or suspected,, how naive we really all must be. |

He's not a real baseball fan, so he probably didn't even know his name much less all of the Red Sox cheat players, Apple watch events, and video sign stealing. |

Oh yeah, I forgot the Astros didn't trade for Osuna until the next year.

Gotta love Blowout! So much judgement and moral equivocating on here, I want to play! Would it be wrong for an elderly man to hit a younger woman--let's say his caregiver, for example--who is stronger than he is and who was abusing him? This is an obviously extreme example, but my point is that right and wrong isn't always black and white. Moreover, every person on earth makes mistakes and does wrong in his or her life. One of the most common of those wrongs is to judge a person; that is what most traditions teach us. If we're all going to be human, then, what matters more is how people address their wrongs, whether they acknowledge them and try to change their minds and their behavior. I slightly remember German being required to do some domestic abuse training or something, but I would be curious to know if he is still with this woman. Was it his girlfriend or his wife? And was there video or testimony from what others saw? Had he done it before, and has he done it since? As far as him redeeming himself goes, however, pitching a perfecto for my struggling Yankees is a good step in the right direction in my book! Sorry, had to.

I'm actually not surprised he did it. If I remember correctly he threw a no hitter a few years back also.

I am happy to hear this, thanks very much for posting. I just read an account of the incident, and it sounds like alcohol was a factor (and addition to him being a terrible person). I wonder if he still drinks. And I wonder if people would be more or less forgiving if they learned that he was an alcoholic. I'm not saying he is, but I'm just throwing this hypothetical out there... An alcoholic person does something horrible and then gets sober and cleans up his life and makes apologies and does the 12 steps yadda yadda... we forgive that person, or no? And then a non-alcoholic person does the same horrible deed under the influence, admits he was wrong but doesn't go the whole disease and 12-step route, and we don't forgive that person, or no? Lots of DUI deaths/manslaughters/murders probably fall under these two examples.
