The guy in that group I have the most trouble wrapping my mind around as a possible HOFer is Zeke.
Shaun Alexander has 112 total TD…… he isn’t in

So you can rest assured Zeke will not make it whether he gets to 100 or not. The other guys I think 100 is the magic lock number as well

We hear about Gronk and Kelce with their impressive Post Season stats. If we added the 8 for Adams, 4 for Evans, etc. Performance in the playoffs need to have some kind of caveat.

I say a few more years putting up his usual numbers and he's got it.

I saw this weird argument elsewhere too. Why does it matter if he got 1001 yards or 1500, like he did in 2018? 1k is 1k.

It's like saying, "well I don't really respect him in baseball as a 30/30 guy because he only reached those exact figures". WHAT????

I'm just glad that he managed to get the record in the Bucs’ 16th game, so history won’t be barking about how he needed a 17th game to hit 1,000.

Yes, there are idiots who would try to cheapen Evans’ accomplishment that way.

I don't view it as weird at all. 1,000 is a totally arbitrary number. It means nothing, really. Which is why he has more 1k yard seasons than Davante Adams, yet 3 fewer All-Pros.

I'd say a tenth straight 1k season and the 100 TD threshold along with a few years of stat padding on the yards would make a good case for the Hall.

Reggie Wayne is a finalist this year and only has one more TD than Evans on almost 400 more catches, similar per game totals and only 8 total thousand yard seasons. He does hold 1 AP and a better playoff resume though.

Just saying Evans is on the trajectory. Tim Brown, Isaac Bruce and Andre Reed did all get enshrined without an AP1, FWIW.

I think because 1k is a pretty common number - 26 players hit 1k yards last year, 18 in 2020, and 17 more (so far) in 2022 with several more guys likely to make it. 1k yards is roughly 60 yards per game at this point, which speaks more to consistency (and, to do it this many years in a row, longevity) than being one of the top five players in the league.

Evans has finished 22nd, 18th, 13th, 3rd, and 15th in receiving yards the last five years - I think he's consistently really good and is on a Hall of Fame track, but the stats tell us there are a lot of guys that are well ahead of him each year.

Through his first 9 seasons, he has slightly less production with a lot less QB talent than Jerry Rice had during the same period. I’m not ready to call him the greatest ever, but he’s off to a terrific start to his career. I don’t get the hate.

Ironically, his critical numbers dropped while playing with the best (most successful) QB of our generation

He's the Frank Gore of modern WRs.

So he's a first ballot HOFer.

Winston aired it out with YOLO style. This actually made Evans have really good numbers for their years together.

As a Bucs fan I don't ever want to see Mike wear another uniform. I sincerely hope they are able to work something out with him to keep him in Tampa.

Definitely off to a great start to his 10th consecutive 1K receiving yardage season. He has built a nice resume for when he retires.

Not smart to overpay for an aging WR though. That’s the dilemma.

I get it, still would rather keep him for a fair contract for both sides.

This is for real. I have a red Prizm patch auto #'d /10 that has been sitting on eBay for months at a reasonable price, and it hardly gets a sniff.

If instead it was the same card of Davante Adams, or Cee Dee Lamb, it would be scooped up within minutes.

He for sure was the star of my fantasy team today. 6 catches for 171 yards and a TD. Future HOFer in my opinion.

When I recall the Bucs winning their Super Bowls and those players who did great in the hobby. D. Brooks and Tom Brady. The supporting cast of W. Sapp, Lynch, Barber, Alstott and Dunn. For the most recent Super Bowl supporting cast L. David, Evans, Barrett, R. Jensen, Gronk, Suh. In a way, the top player in each SB dominates the hobby while the supporting cast is ok-so so in market value.

I'm shocked his Chrome refractor PSA 10 RCs are under $100.

It meant something back then, and it still means something now, The question is will Mike Evans Break this man's record for consecutive 1000+ yard seasons in a row.
