When you look at the entirety of his statement regarding Stanton, it isn't as bad as some are making it out to sound like. 100% true that Stanton gets injured in some capacity and misses games every year. Should he have said it the way he did without maybe clarifying that the team needs to have a better backup contingency when it happens? Maybe so. I would say based on the last two years now and his declining batting average, that Cashman may be incorrect in saying "he's never not hit."

Quote:
"We've gotta get Stanton up and running again," Cashman said in Arizona. "He's injury-prone. We all have lived and known that, but he's never not hit when he's playing, and this year is the first time that that's happened."

...

"We try to limit the time he's down," Cashman said. "But I'm not gonna tell you he's gonna play every game next year because he's not. He's going to wind up getting hurt again more likely than not because it seems to be part of his game. But I know that when he's right and healthy – other than this past year – the guy's a great hitter and has been for a long time."

Yeah, sure, but the Yankees would have to eat a ton of Stanton's salary to make that palatable for any team.

And here's the kind of BS trades we'll keep seeing. Jake Bauers for 2 never heard of players.

Yankees trade Jake Bauers to Brewers for minor leaguers

Say goodbye to the following players:

Quote:
Lou Trivino, Albert Abreu and Anthony Misiewicz.
Cleared up 40 man roster and saved $7 million.

Cashman clears air, calls Stanton a driver of Yanks' success

https://www.mlb.com/news/brian-cashm...anton-comments

Nice that he had a conversation with both Stanton and his agent to clarify (and probably relay the second half of the message he said that day that the media ignored).

That montas trade just gets worse and worse, wasn't Trevino the other player?

Yes, but Lou Trevino was great in the bullpen. He had a 1.66 ERA compared to 6.47 with Oakland. He gave up 4 Earned Runs with 22 Ks in 21.2 innings.

Nothing will meaningfully change in this organization until the Yankees can find a new Gene Michael.

Yankees, Yerry De Los Santos Agree To Deal

Quote:
While the agency didn’t specify the terms, it’s very likely a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

Since I've seen numerous articles linking them to trades, who would you rather see traded now for someone like Soto or someone else that could help, Rizzo or Gleyber? They still have DJ that can play either position locked up through 2026.

Hmm, debating whether I add this one to the collection or not.

I don't think we can get anything for Rizzo. Gleyber may be some good bait and I have thought the same move DJ to 2nd. Upgrade in the outfield and/or pitching depth.

Trying to include Rizzo (or Stanton) in a trade will only increase the amount of prospect capital exponentially needed to land someone like Soto. Best to just ride with those guys, hope for a healthy recovery season from the high salaried vets IMO.

Don’t underestimate this. Grew up with Ausmus, and he’s a solid baseball mind. He’ll have a positive influence.

It might also put pressure on Boone seeing as how Ausmus has managed teams before.

Nope, not even going to think about it. I don't want to hear anything unless it's a press conference where someone puts on a jersey.

Soto, sign Kiermaier for security until Jasson comes back, and the Japanese pitcher. My Christmas wish list.

Trade and sign or no deal. I don't want to see him in pinstripes this spring if he's just going to walk the next year.
