It would certainly be nice for the Jays to finish on a strong note. At the same time, if they happen to slip to the sixth seed, it might not be all that bad to end up facing Minnesota instead of Tampa.
Then again, if they face Tampa and win, they would go up against Texas in the LDS—which would be preferable to Baltimore. Either way, the Jays are in good position heading into the weekend, especially with Texas and Seattle set beat up on each other and Houston facing an Arizona team needing to cement their postseason spot. Should win today with Bassit starting and Weaver going for the Yankees but a loss today and things get more interesting than I think the Bluejays and their fans want.

Ok so how i see it, if the Jays lose Sunday and Houston wins...Jays get the Twins and not the Rays. I want no part of the Rays in the 1'st round.

Yeah, I’ve been hoping the Jays get the Twins in round 1. And then they’d get Texas instead of Baltimore in the ALDS. Definitely a friendlier route. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I’m so confused: the Jays just DFA’d Jay Jackson and brought up Wes Parsons.
Hasn’t Jackson been a reliable bullpen arm? Apparently, they needed to make room for Parsons’ spot start of what is apparently a throw-away game, but I’m surprised Jackson is getting the boot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Looks like they are "settling" for the #3 wild card and a trip to Minneapolis.

Ohtani and Soto are names being mentioned here in Toronto as the Jays are putting it out there to the media to spin to casuals about their intentions to be tenacious this winter.
is this Yu Darvish all over again when the media here went into a frenzy with some calling Darvish a lock in Toronto only to see it all evaporate into nothing? Jays have to fill third, outfield, and dh spots (at the minimum) and one of Ohtani or Soto won't cover all three. it's fun to dream but i'm bracing for more realistic signings like Soler, Candelario, and Pederson while the Jays pump the "we tried our best" lines to the casuals here when Ohtani and Soto are elsewhere. |

We’ve been hearing the same rumors down here in the states… I doubt Ohtani leaves the west coast. And it’s hard to see the Jays putting together a compelling package for Soto, unless they’re willing to part with Tiedemann. Personally, I say they grab Candelario to plug in at third, bring back Lourdes, make JD Martinez their big splash. And maybe they could consider trading for Jorge Polanco to take over second (unless they really think Schneider is their guy). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Baseball fans in Toronto think it’s a great signing. Call in show fans wonder why the Jays didn’t trade for Aaron Judge and want to run Atkins out of town. The fan base is becoming much like Leafs fans. How you don’t like this signing is beyond me. They do need one more lefty bat to make this thing work, IMO.
