Why is it that when I click on a specific card to view it then hit the back button, the search page is justified down to the bottom? Sometimes it'll even take me back several pages if it's a search that includes multiple pages. Of course, it justifies to the bottom of that page as well.

Why is the search by seller function so clunky? I'm not sure if it's just the filter menu or not, but man oh man, it's just.....bad. If I pick a seller in the filter menu, it doesn't just display the cards. I have to scroll up the clunky menu and physically do yet another search.

I really liked sportlots. So much so that I would pay a monthly fee to be able to use the previous site so I could actually use the site and its functions efficiently.

I'm certainly finding myself using COMC more and more these days.
Yeah, haven't been on it in a couple of years. Hard AF to navigate, when did they change it?

I don't know how I missed it, but when did they add sales tax? Years ago and I'm just now noticing? LOL

Just had a seller cancel their entire part of today's order. Not sure what I did to piss them off.

I don't pay sales tax. Or if I do I can't find it.

It was in the checkout process where you select your shipping and loot and such.

Yes, this is on the list. We made a lot of updates to the new design for a few months based on input from buyers and sellers. However, we have now moved on and are concentrating on the shopping cart rewrite now. Once that is done, we'll look at a quick "look-back" on the previous screens and see if there are things like this we can add.

Note: You can use the double arrow buttons to move 5 pages back or forth instead of hitting the single arrows. That will help you get where you want to go quicker. Also the arrow with the line will get you to the start or end of the list.

Thanks

Yea, the oringal thought (like 20+ years ago) is that sellers are trying to load thousands and thousands of cards as quickly as possible. The more grades you provide the more precise sellers have to be when loading commons. If we were to add new grades, all current inventory in the lower Grades (if we were to add Poor and VG-EX) should really be re-examined and graded correctly. That would mean sellers needing to re-examine 1.15 million cards on the site.

It's an easy change to add these grades, it's the repercussions of that change to all of the existing inventory that concerns me.

Sales tax was added a few years ago. Only for states that require it based on their thresholds. Each state is different thresholds/rules. Off the top of my head, we are required to charge and remit sales tax in around 20 states.

I'm sure I've said it before, but please don't oversimplify the shopping cart. I like the ability to keep items indefinitely, filter for multiple sellers, only pay the sellers you want, access the sellers' inventories and shipping policies, toggle the shipping method, etc. Your cart page is one of the best around.

Beckett Marketplace, for example, is terrible.

Only thing I'd suggest is somehow the "Set, then Seller" sort doesn't exactly work right. Don't know if it's a function of the cart page or the card/set attributes.

Filter/sort by sport may be a new feature to think about.

I second this - I love some of the current features of the shopping cart.

There are no plans to remove any functionality. How you perform some of these actions may be a little different, but the functionality will remain.

Plans for some improvements include:

1) Not removing cards when a seller is on vacation, instead adding them to a "Save for Later" section. Will also show you the planned return date for the seller if they supply this.
2) Allowing the customer to also put their own cards in the "Save for Later" section of the shopping cart so they don't have to check out their entire shopping cart (by seller, set or individually).
3) Accepting Credit Card payment directly from Sportlots
4) Mobile Friendly and improved technology/interface with PayPal.
5) If the card you added to your cart had a picture, the picture can now be viewed in the cart too.
6) Box Calculator in your shopping cart so you can estimate Box savings directly from the shopping cart before checking out.

I know this is from a long time ago, but one thing I hate about Beckett is that you can't pay an individual seller. I usually try to buy enough to get to the free shipping, but then if I have 10 sellers, I have to check out all of them at once. It's a pain.

Yup, I have started keeping a Google Sheet with cards I want to purchase in the future from Beckett and BuySportsCards since you have to clear them from the cart if you're not buying right away.

I've been loading cards onto Sportlots for the last month (about 13k total) and I went live on Aug 1st. Is it pretty typical not to have any sales yet? I have a ton of stuff I could list but I'm wondering if it would be worth it. What are your thoughts?

SL was pretty slow for me in July, especially the last week+ of July, I wouldn't panic...I actually put my store on vacation for August...I've been averaging 200 orders a month for the last 4 months...just need a break from it, it is a lot of work to stay on top of 40+ orders a week.

also depends on what cards you have listed.

When I was communicating with sportlots about the issues back in March, it sounded like my experiences were unfortunately not unusual recently. I have to think there is something personal going on. It's not like they are being deliberately bad as far as I can tell, but something is happening that messed up the consistency and it became a headache for sportlots (after an extended period of this), I am pretty sure.

I've bought a bunch from Lattacar over the years. Maybe they moved. I just moved from Michigan to Minnesota in March, and getting everything organized and "findable" again has taken some time. I am a very low volume seller, and have plenty of time to search for stuff, but not everyone is in my shoes.

I hope everything is okay.

I made a purchase from him after he was reinstated. Ordered 7/6, "fulfilled" 7/12, added to box 7/28. Seemed like an ok timeline.

If you take more than 10 days to fill an order, you're automatically removed as a seller...I'm guessing Lattacar just had some box orders pile up on him when that happened...he was reinstated quickly. I received a warning message or two last month saying I was 24 hours away from being removed as a dealer...since my box orders were drastically fewer than prior months, I had been taking longer to fill those orders...it seems a little Draconian...I mean, I get the need for some policy, but it seems a little stiff of a penalty, w/o much notice, especially when there is no reinstation announcement if you do get in a spot where you have an extended delay as a seller...could really tarnish a reputation over something benign

I think this is why SportLots will always be behind of other sites:
Order placed - 7/15 for 4 cards with PWE shipping (had 3 other orders placed with this as all were small)
Order fulfilled - 7/20
Postmarked - 8/3
Delivered - today

Other orders I placed were shipped next day, but some sellers are just so slow. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I think there needs to be something tracking actually ship date

I've been frustrated by this before. Sellers mark as fulfilled within minutes of me placing orders, but they don't get shipped for sometimes up to 2 weeks later. Even then sometimes they are missing cards. I am 99% sure they aren't actually pulling the cards when they say it's fulfilled. It would be impossible to do that within minutes of receiving an order.

As a seller, I don't mark as fulfilled until I actually pull the cards.

i had a box order fulfilled on 07/04 the day I made the order that was adjusted on 08/03 with four cards refunded so it could not have possibly been pulled when they claimed it was. Luckily they were just random cards not for a set I was working on to wait a month to find out they were not available.

The corrections post marking fulfilled are very annoying too. I do wish there was a tag to a couple of cards in an order that allows for the rest to be canceled if missing.

I agree. I almost always buy up to the maximum for that shipping level. If I have 1 card, I will add 3 to get the same shipping price. If one is a card I need, then I might buy 3 commons to fill sets. Then I get the 3 commons in the mail and the card I actually wanted to buy isn't included. Super annoying.

How do set names get in the system? No such thing as 1995 Bowman's Best Black Refractors football.
