Exactly. Pop and the Spurs organization have a plan to win long term, and competing now is irrelevant. He's literally 20-years-old surrounded by 1 washed point God, 1 lottery pick, Zach Collins and a bunch of G-leaguers.

Normally, average coaches and organizations would let that #1 pick chuck the ball all day to sell tickets. Spurs not about that. This year they will at best compete for a play-in spot and Wemby will have another up and down season with 28/18/6 highlight games and mostly quiet 20/10 games, esp first half of the season.

Barring injuries, I hope the hobby gives up on him a little early so I can snipe some reasonable prices for once. But hot take: Wemby wins a title before Luka.

get a multicolor patch. there aren't many out there, and I think most people are trying to scoop the debut jerseys so the value has already been ran up (seems like a 50% premium on the lower end)

Two things, can’t go wrong with a debut patch and second, buy it after dynasty comes out if you are set on one.

Rebuttal hot take. There is a good chance neither wins a ring.

If Wemby does, it will be years down the road and with variables not even the Gefion AI supercomputer can predict. So you are really saying Mavs aren't winning with the current team makeup, as the now reflects their best chance.

And if you are saying that, I am gonna say Ant has even less of a chance. Cause I like Dallas a lot more than Minny right now.

Some of you are severely underrating Wemby's supporting cast ... They got personnel to compete now. Barnes, Keldon Johnson, Champaigne, and Vassell are pretty versatile 2-3-4 options (who poster above called all g-league players??) that can all shoot if Wemby plays the 5'. Vassell being hurt right now is huge, but they should be concerned with winning. At very least they definitely have potential to be like OKC in 2022-2023 season when they just missed playoffs. No way should they just say F it to this year and JUST focus on development. Development + winning should be the goal.

It is to be expected, as is any other high end. I would still buy from private sellers with provenance or reputable sellers that have too much to lose if they ever got caught. Randoms on eBay or small-mid sized breakers would need to do some inquiring.

Main takeaway is that the nuance I just laid out will inevitably be ignored by people who consistently take the clickbait and declare something dead or bad or whatever.

That sounded really suspect to me until I looked up the prices for red refractors



The red refractor /5 auto went for $3500, which sounds very low to me but hey there it is

It seems like you're hoping for one of those /5 RPAs (you can see the debut /5 went for $19k there) or a really nice /5 and below dual auto (wemby/robinson went for $7900)

I was exaggerating, but the problem with guys like Johnson, Champaigne, and Vassell is all their nice stats are playing for a last place Spurs team. None of them look like they comfortably belong on the starting five of a contending team like the Celtics or Thunder, much less like the second or third best player like a Manu or Parker to Wemby's Duncan.

I think competing for a play-in spot this year is a realistic expectation and would be solid growth. Anything beyond that when they won't let Wemby just run wild is not gonna happen. They're better off tanking for Cooper Flagg and running the OKC playbook since there's not a lot of All Star players begging to be shipped to San Antonio.

None of this is unique to Topps Mercury and it's all old news by now. YouTuber is just screaming like he's the first to discover this news.

Also, holy cow that guy is unhinged. I stupidly clicked on the video off someone else's IG, expecting... something? and instead just got that guy talking about how much he hated the product. It is 100% clickbait to make a video calling a product dead for "a couple dozen boxes" of it being scanned, and again he can't say who is doing it or how many boxes, just gives a general amount (he did the same thing on SCN a while back and got called out on it). He then went on to call me an idiot and apparently has sent his followers after me? It's insane to me how many of you guys watch and believe in all these corny channels run by these insane basement dwellers.

Seems kind of naive to not see CT scanning as a major issue if you buy or break wax

So took a bit of a closer look. What we know is the scanned card is either a 3-color, or 2-color RPA. I'm guessing 3-color because the part they didn't block out is two colors.

They should've done a better job making sure every frame was covered. You can see the left side number is in the 20s. To me it looks like 23 or 25.
