I don't see how these are illegal. Dodgers is not spelled out only implied. Real name isn't used. No real image or likeness of player. Seems like a run of the mill fan art card. I wouldn't buy it, I don't like fan art cards at all anyways.

the partial Dodgers logo is a problem - this is the same issue Upper Deck got in trouble for with their 2010 set, where they did not have the MLB license (Topps gained the exclusive the year before) and did not remove team logos resulting in numerous photos picked specifically for obscured/partial logos. Topps and Major League Baseball Properties sued and halted the release of further UD baseball that year.

The issue then was the fact that UD was using partially obscured authentic MLB team logos. These are animated, and while close, do not feature the Dodgers script/design.

Not a fan of them, but they left themselves enough grey area. Typically, the team/MLB will send out a letter if they deem the action worthy of a response

TAG is advertising the newest card on their social media pages as Mookie Betts and has already called the prior releases Juan Soto and Freddie Freeman on their instagram - this seems like a potential licensing issue if the MLBPA becomes aware

They are calling them "art cards," so I don't think there is much the MLBPA can do. The big issue is using logos. The Dodgers script may not be perfect, but it resembles what their copyrighted image on the front of the jersey looks like. They should have known better with that.

TAG is quickly transitioning from a grading company, to a Piggybanx competitor. TAG can't grade a 1986 Fleer Jordan, but they will sell you a Broder card in their slabs!

What buddy of the company did they throw it into a slab for? They wouldn't do that for you. They also put 1 1988 Jordan, Pippen, and Jordan All-Star in a A slabs for most likely the same friend in California. They wouldn't do this for you since they know they would get 5000 fake 1986 Jordan's if they opened up the Authentic service for a regular customer.

Honestly though it's just a s##t on TAG fest in here.

Like I get it, they're not perfect. But the one thread on here about TAG seems to bring in people who point out every small misstep.

No one seems to point out any positives. And part of the reason is anyone who wants to talk good things about TAG is labelled a shill, so they don't. Happens on reddit too. They can't possibly genuinely like TAG, must be a shill post. They must be paid by TAG. I try to share the results as a fan and let people see how they're doing.

But it is always met with some vitriol by the same few people who can't see any positives and always move the goal posts.

I wanted to post some info for other TAG fans, but they ain't here. So I'm out, you guys can keep this thread as the TAG bashing thread. I know, what a crybaby.

I ask because it’s way beyond sharing information, why I think is great and relevant.

At this point it’s taking preemptive shots and trying to defend TAG at all costs.

And you’re right, it’s the same on Reddit. Any mention of TAGs shortcomings is met with vehement arguments. It’s just silly. Grade with who you like and enjoy life more.

If you're willing to have engage in normal conversation I'll engage too.

If you look at the last few weeks on this thread I usually just don't say anything after i post numbers, because i know I won't change anyone's minds here and people will label me defensive if I give counterpoints.

So this week i started trolling for fun because I see the same comments every time.

And on Reddit most people get upset not because of people bringing up shortcomings. But because anytime someone shares their TAG results or bring up anything good about TAG they're labeled a shill. When people are fans they are excited to share the good things.

But they get met with shill comments because no one is willing to believe that people can be fans of a fledgling company, that grades very little. They just think it's not a real company that won't survive and the slabs sell for penny's on the dollar. They don't look into the company more.

I understand you were trolling but even you immediately went to the "hey, how much is TAG paying you" line

I'm pretty happy with who I grade and will do so, but sometimes I feel I want to dish out what people are giving, at least for these two days. But it comes off as defensive so I'll just stop posting here.
