Rice and Worthy should make for a potent 1-2. Rice in particular looks like a guy that be a 1200+ #1 WR. I'd expect Brown back on a cheap deal. If healthy, that's a new legion of zoom. Got to fix the line too though and that's going to be tricky. Fans want a big name at LT like Alaric Jackson but I wouldn't be surprised if they go with a bargain bin guy like Jaylon Moore. The other factor that could make for a more high flying offense is if Pat just decides to go full FU mode. It's also possible they do more goal line pass attempts to pump those passing TD stats (they 100% did this in 2022). |

I didn't...
I offered a cautionary tale of what can happen when a player fails to live up to expectations. Wilson was priced to win another SB or two. It didn't happen, and worse, he fell off a performance cliff. I perceive Mahomes prices to have more trophies built in and based on ample chat in this forum, I'm not alone in that assessment. If KC just kind of grinds out, say, a 9-8 record over a few seasons and Mohomes doesn't bring back the 2022 type stats, do you think people will be paying current prices for his cards? I don't. |

I misread google. that aside, Mahomes is still in his prime.
Anybody even thinking about comparing him to anybody other than brady needs to get a life
To me this year if Mahomes wins Superbowl 3 times in a row you could pencil him in possibly being right behind Brady or close to it BUT after that drubbing in the Superbowl and his subpar season stats wise thats a big NO. I said this earlier in the season about his card values falling if he didnt win the Superbowl To me you playing a very dangerous game investing in him considering his team doesnt look to be getting any better losing Kelce and really not having any other playmakers on the team
I agree with you. The SB loss was a big setback for Patty. I don't agree with the bolded. Gray is no Kelce at TE, but a serviceable replacement. Rashee Rice and Worthy seem like solid receivers, and the defense will still be solid next year. They need another receiver, a left tackle and maybe a power back and they should be just fine. |

Do the Chiefs need to get a new OC?

Brady-Mahomes is an easier comparison imo just because they had a few years of crossover and the game has changed a lot since the 1980s

Just compare him to himself. His 2023-24 seasons were nice but nothing like his 2021-22 seasons. And if that team starts falling short of expectations, and every team will at some point, then there's ample room for depreciation in his card values. Only a fool thinks they can't drop. Aaron Rodgers is an easy 1st ballot HOF and his PSA 10 Chrome rookies were $4-6k a few years ago and can now be had for under $1k. Why? Because he was hyped and then got hurt followed by just starting to suck.

Aaron Rodgers is a lunatic. You either love him or hate him. Mahomes is about as liked as you can be as a professional athlete.

I have a few high end mahomes cards..I collect him because I enjoy watching him play..of course I am also hoping he ascends up the goat status and have my cards appreciate in value…but let’s just say he falls short..and is 2nd of all time..I think he will still sell very well…he will likely be the nfl player of the golden era of nfl…ratings continue to go up..nfl reaching global markets..chiefs continue to be sought after by tv for prime time slots…chiefs continue to dominate ratings..Al this bodes well for nostalgia and more fans..which organically translates to more collectors

Not this product. Having said that, Mahomes cards will always sell well. He's already accomplished.

Aaron 2024 had basically the hottest best young WR besides Jefferson/Chase in Garrett Wilson and then also added a HOF WR Adams (and they didn't come close to making playoffs!). Mahomes 2024 lost WR1 Rashee Rice after week 3, his WR2 Hollywood preseason surgery and never played until the very end. Pat was throwing to a rookie, grandpa Kelce, and jack and spit for 2024 (made SB). It was even worse in 2023 with rookie Rashee and MVS and assorted clowns catching passes (won SB). Not really comparable, sir.

Not really comparable, sir Mahomes has been good but not great the last two years (definitely not goat great) They won in 2023 being a good team that peaked at the right time. Nothing wrong with that, very well earned but they weren’t a juggernaut by any means. This year they were a good team that got every bounce imaginable. Favourable calls (not their fault), favourable goal post bounces, idiot coaches that can’t manage the clock, miracle FG blocks and saved by a toe. Realistically they could/should have been the 2nd or 3rd seed if not for ridiculous luck. They don’t look like a team that is starting or in the middle of a dynasty, rather a team that has squeezed out all of the juice from the fruit. |

I think SB are a terrible metric, but we use it. There is nearly always some luck and/or opponent error that goes into winning. Chiefs tend to do a lot of winning. Mahomes has won a ton more than Rodgers ever did (and much more than Brady - so far, not yet overall). If Mahomes gets some OL and WRs (Xavier improved all year... then add Rice if back healthy or FA or whatever), look out. The guy has already had better stats seasons than most HOF QBs ever did, and he's clearly still in his prime. Quote:
I would say that's Ried + Mahomes + results, but what do I know? The Chief are washed up, right? Vegas must not know what you do.
