Just a reminder that if you’re hunting singles, right now is generally the worst possible time to be buying.

Fatu 1/1 inscribed auto sold for $7K today if legit so not everyone is losing on these as this thread would have you believe…..I also think selling the Nia/Cena #25 right now will break even or make money.

Just want to bring some of the other side into this from someone who didn’t attempt but also isn’t sour they couldn’t get a box dirt cheap to make the money Topps chose to make instead by reselling lol

Sometimes I wonder if you are a real person, do you really think anyone in this thread thinks pulling a 1/1 autograph wouldn't pay for the cost of a box? Also the weird fixation you have with people on this forum flipping boxes which I haven't seen anyone really discussing since Prizm 2022. Not sure how someone pulling a 1/1 inscribed autograph and selling it for a high amount is the "other side", looking forward to you posting every 1/1 auto sale as a "gotcha" moment.

Person has to be a clear troll, because they actually read this forum. 98% of us aren't annoyed by box prices because we can't flip them, it's because we can't rationalize spending that much to open them.

I make what I believe is pretty good money, I save a decent amount, I can't rationalize $400-$450 on a box with no guaranteed Auto that is 90% likely to lose a bunch of money on, it's not because I want to flip, it's because I'd like to spend my money and know there's a real chance I would be able to make most of it back if I wanted to. When I opened Panini products a lot of the nicer stuff I just kept, so it's not me trying for an easy flip (and who cares if someone does do that anyway???)

Bingo. Pre covid, I would easily drop close to $1k a month on wax. With prices what they are now for what you get in return, that has gone to $0 except for rare instances.

What sucks is now even Magic the Gathering is seeing a massive influx of flippers. Can’t even enjoy that anymore.

Hogan auto is a sticker auto, so it looks like his last on-card autos were in Chrome.

As 'bad' as everyone keeps saying these are, the Hulk Hogan autos are going to count for something in the long run, no matter how bad the odds may seem. Saw a breaker pull one last evening. (firehands, I think - don't hold me to that - I was just clicking around on YT between a few of them to see some product breaks)

Why? They are just sticker autos

Think his Chrome will hold up better as they are on card

I don't think Hogan autos will hold up in the long run in this set as he signed A LOT over the last few years. I don't think most collector's put extra value on a wrestler's "last" autograph, usually it still is the first, or lowest serial, on card, etc. So I'm sure they will sell well, when the smoke settles I don't know if they will hold more value than his other licensed autographs.

I saw a Kings of the Night 1/1 superfractor parallel listed/sold - I didn't even know those existed, thought it was just a single version case hit insert

Opened a box on a whim tonight and got exactly what I should have. Nothing. Even beat the odds on an auto and got Angelo Dawkins. The biggest kick to the balls was pulling a rare Travis Scott card that came out damaged. Not my finest hour.

Ouch, sounds worst than Chrome Sapphire's feast or famine which was already overpriced and atleast had better looking cards than this

Why are base cards for this set going for more than I usually see for base cards? Some wrestlers fetching 25-50 just for base. Some of the parallels are definitely cool but I don't find the base design that fetching so what's the deal? Just due to the high box price or inability to find boxes?

To reiterate----it is because the singles from the Cactus Jack Wrestlemania singles are so expensive. People are equating that to this product when it was printed 20x or more. I do agree that because breakers are struggling with this product that a bunch isn't going to be opened and that will probably keep the single prices high for now. It makes no sense at all, but it is what it is.

It's the main reason I haven't picked any up. People are being unreasonable due to ignorance. I'm not going to up my price because other people don't do research. This will just be a set I won't buy singles from for a long while.

This card is giving me '90s NFL/NBA PMG vibes...

The market for the boxes has fallen enough they are already at or below the (way too high) initial retail price on Topps. The singles prices are sellers trying to make up their cost and buyers maybe not being savvy enough to realize you don't have to go full FOMO on base cards. I think the higher end Cactus Jack cards will always hold a premium of some type but the base/common autographs with a little patience they'll come back to Earth.

I’d like to buy a complete set of base at reasonable prices. I can wait.

Someone's selling a complete base set on the buy/sell/trade forum.

I was able to get a hobby box on the Fanatics drop yesterday. I was all excited. Then I saw that boxes are on ebay for like $70 less than what Fanatics had them up for. Canceled my order right away.
