He's very interesting and I did think about him early on as I was perusing the ACL lists, so he truthfully should've been listed with the names at the end. His body is not the super projectable type for an 18yo, so it depends on how much you believe in the hit. The scouting is backing up that it's there, I'm not 100% sold yet but wouldn't fault anyone for being so. You can call him a "just missed" for my list though.

Has some potential untapped upside, was reportedly looking stronger this year than last, but struggling with the transition to AA as a now 23yo so he's likely in my 125-200 range were I to list them that far. Main question with him is will he hit well enough at the higher levels. Look for him to make adjustments this offseason and if he comes back in '26 swinging well at AA he might move up into the top 100.

brought his wrc+ all the way up to smack dab average at 100 even.

fangraphs still has his hit as a 20/30, and with him being lefty obviously he's a candidate to be a strong-side platoon bat at the highest level.

Been pretty tantalized by Tony Blanco Jr. lately. Just turned 20 and is in low A but has performed very well in limited time at the level and has more power than anyone in the minors (hit a home run with 119.8 mph exit velocity this year). High strikeouts but legit 80 grade power. These guys convert fly balls into home runs so effortlessly it's hard not to be interested.

As I start to put more serious thought into my own list, the first thing that jumps out at me is this year's list seems quite a bit stronger than normal. I've got two guys that would be #1 in a typical year (Basallo, Griffin), plus an above normal amount of Grade A talent. We'll see if that holds true when I get all the numbers put in and look at everybody next to each other and year's past.

Does it seem stronger than normal to you?

Sal is underrated but I like Bryce. Seems he was playing the year a bit hurt and yet still torched AA and was respectable in AAA [for a 20yo].

I think Sykora would have been a slam dunk to be at the top of the pitcher's list if not for the injury. Such is life.

Baseball America updated it's 2026 Top 100 prospects list recently and MLB Pipeline will update their list on Friday. Here is the top 10 from BA:

1. Konnor Griffin
2. Kevin McGonigle
3. JJ Wetherholt
4. Jesus Made
5. Walker Jenkins
6. Max Clark
7. Colt Emerson
8. Nolan McLean
9. Samuel Basallo
10. Trey Yesavage

I was surprised to see DeVries and Walcott move out of the Top 10, but I think they are just placing Jenkins, Clark and Emerson higher since they may debut in the spring.

Man, the Salas drop is pretty incredible.

Interesting, I missed the BA release - but figured it was soon.

I got started on my list earlier than ever this year... still much to do but this will be the one I've spent the most time on.

DeVries and Walcott still prominently in my top 10.

Basallo and McLean have graduated from my list.

I am lower on Wetherholt, Jenkins, and Emerson than they are, thus far.

MLB 2026 Top 100 Prospects list: https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects

Not much variance from BA with the top 20 prospects on the list. Just shuffled around a bit more.

Big names that dropped, that I noticed, in both rankings are Charlie Condon and Ethan Salas.

Aren't these the same dodos that had Marco Luciano in the top 15 at the same stage of his career? I generally talk down Morales and I've still got him in the top 50. Morales is bigger, more athletic, and most importantly, not a clown show on defense compared to Luciano at a similar stage.

I need to be more consistent in how I handle this. I kept Basallo on the list, but for some reason I graduated McLean.

BA is putting more emphasis on big league ready than I can ever remember. Normally I'm higher on guys closer to the majors, but not this year.

1) Basallo
2) Griffin
3) McGonigle

4) Made
5) Walcott
6) De Vries

I'd probably slide Tong/Susana in here.

Next group, no order;

Wetherholt,JJ
Clark,Max
Jenkins,Walker
Williams,Carson
Emerson,Colt
Eldridge,Bryce
Crawford,Justin
Ballesteros,Moises
Chandler,Bubba
Yesavage,Trey
White,Thomas
Smith,Hagen

Holliday is borderline Top 100 droppable IMO.

Check back in 7 months, I'll be happy to eat my words if I'm wrong.

Emil is a fascinating prospect for me. He improved from an unplayable 61% Contact% to a palatable 72% between DSL and A ball. He takes mammoth hacks. He's one of maybe 20-30 international guys that has Top 5 prospect in all of baseball upside/gets washed out by AA due to swing decisions downside...which I've fallen for numerous times. But the fact that he's actually improved his Contact% as he's moved stateside suggests there's something to work with.
