Take me down, 6 underground,
The ground beneath your feet,
Laid out low, nothing to go
Nowhere a way to meet

Windy here. Lights flickering while eating breakfast. Need electricity today - still grading papers.

Just got to the office. A rare Friday for me, I have 6 hours left to finish my 40 for the week. It's not often I have that much time on Friday

Forget to take your meds last night?

Bad poetry. Wasn't there a thread for that?

So far, I have managed to stay ahead of A.I. by designing assignments for which it would be significantly more difficult to create suitable A.I. prompts in order to complete them than simply doing the work oneself. This may not last forever, I recognize, but it seems to be working for now.

Edit: I also have a useful story of a former student who got caught in an academic integrity violation (not my class, I was simply adjudicating the situation). It was a repeat offense - he lost his international student visa after falling out of good academic standing and was subsequently deported - and this was back in the pre-"frozen water" era we currently inhabit. This gets their attention.

Leaving for Apopka in about an hour. No show there last month. My first time there since September. Will be curious to see what the attendance is like less than a week before Christmas. If it is poor (like it has been the last couple of times I was there), then is it because of the promoter, the economy, the proximity to the holidays, or something else. I am hopeful, but not overly optimistic.

T made Philly Cheesesteak Sliders last night and brought me one this morning. I think we might do Laila's Place again for lunch. That's starting to be our local place since it's close to the office.

The shelter in town is getting a huge donation of frozen chicken tenders, hamburger pattys, and hotdogs today

What a clusterpoop.
When they 1st brought it up for town vote they said that all dwellings in the 1st section worked on would receive FREE hookup to the system so all those people voted yes.

Current dollars the hookup to the system will be between 5 and 10 thousand dollars.

Whole project will take 30 years. I THINK my area is in about 5-7 years. Hookup will probably be a minimum of $15k

Also 1 worker died in a trench collapse a few weeks ago. They didn't use the braces to prevent collapses.

That’s a crappy thing to happen.

I went downstairs and power cycled the furnace breaker and then went and power cycled the two breakers on the furnace. Success! The furnace starts up, so I go back upstairs to ensure the Nest came back on and set it to 74 to get some heat going. Furnace/Nest dies. Repeat the previous steps and it stays on for maybe 3 minutes.

I called the company that installed it and we have a maintenance contract on it and they'll be out tomorrow between 8 and 12.
I mean rich white people problems if you set your heat to 74
