Purdy was merely one of the newer passengers on the Niners train during the playoff runs.

Of course now that the playoff train has derailed, it’s everyone else’s fault. Injuries. Attitude. Not Purdy.

Yeah I dont know how one can argue Purdy "brought" niners to SB when he didnt do anything special the whole run (even played bad on some of the games)

Ah,.....the results of my Purdy grading are no bueno.
I sent two autos- which both got 10s but the cards got a 7 and 8.5. I saw the problem issue on the 7 and tried to sneak it in, so that's on me, but the 8.5, the card looked great. Will post pics later.
That 7 is the lowest I have ever gotten on a card

It's tough because by your logic if he can't take any credit for the success he shouldn't take any blame for the bad moments either.

If the QB of a SB runner up is truly incidental, then it's not his fault they are bad.

You can argue it pretty easily, actually. He had a Perfect Passer Rating Game during the season, as QB he tied the record for the biggest comeback in NFCCG history (including key scrambles). Got a Pro Bowl nod, and was near the top of completed AIR YARDS per completion. He might have been #1. #4 in MVP voting, led the league in multiple key passing categories.

It's OK to not like his game, or think he's overrated, but... there's no basis in reality for that statement.

I wouldn't be too bummed, especially if they're going PC. They both got 10 on the auto. I now strictly collect singles of Philadelphia sports teams, Star Wars, and all things space program / outer space (last set was UD Cosmic, but also the space program trading cards of the early 60s) so I care more about how the cards look, and less about the name brand on it - but some snob collectors would turn their noses up at Limited or Honors because it's not Prizm or Optic for 35-55 pt cards, or NT, Immac or Flawless for 100-180 pt cards.

Purdy is a good QB. As an Eagles fan, I wanted him to be a flash in the pan after the season he led them to the NFC Championship game and when he and QB4 both got hurt in that game.

But he came back the next season and proved the doubters wrong, taking the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

The 49ers are still feeling the effects of trading three firsts and a third for Trey Lance. They'll bounce back - but you cant understate how tough it is on a team losing first rounders in '21, '22 and '23.

I can't tell you a team by team list of which teams drafted who with their firsts from those years, but I know the Eagles, and our first rounders from those years are DeVonta Smith, Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter.

Take those three away and we lose WR2 and our two starting interior lineman. Who knows who SF could have had if they never made that trade.

Complete disaster. If they don't find Purdy, trading those picks for a complete bust would probably have cost Lynch his job.
