I agree. It is a simple explanation. Ebay would lose a bunch of revenue if this all comes out. While I don't think they are complicit in any of the actual scam, ebay may be facilitating some of these moves to preserve their bottom line.

All it takes is one bad actor to do a favor for somebody they are connected with. It likely would only take one phone call to an IT person to shut down the feed to VCP.

I use the free version which gives data for one year and typically allows users to access the closed listing directly on ebay. So it presents data just like it does if you search for completed listings on ebay.

PWCC is a tiny drop in eBay's bucket. If Brent contacted eBay on a holiday weekend they'd tell him to go pound sand. Bobby, on the other hand, would pick up the phone on the first ring and would drop whatever he was doing to spend hours scraping data from his site... on a holiday weekend.

This wasn't eBay. There is no logical reason for eBay to even do this, let alone ask for older data to be removed, let alone hold his feed hostage until older data is removed. Brent called Bobby and threatened to pull his monthly check. Occam's razor.

Disagree. If fraudulent activity is found to have occurred on their site over a period of years, and they are found to have received and ignored multiple complaints about it, then that makes them complicit. They have a lot to lose as the biggest whale in the fold.

I am sure that Ebay has an ethics and compliance division and I am sure that they would consult legal counsel before doing anything that remotely makes them look like they had any hand in this.

eBay is a publicly traded company and if they are doing anything behind the scenes to help cover up a fraud of one of their sellers, in order to maintain their financial revenues then this is a very serious issue.

If Bobby is telling the truth, then eBay has a problem. And if he is lying then I would think he has a bigger problem making eBay sound like they are assisting in a scam and I would think at some point when eBay finds out about this he better lawyer up.

I’m sure a phone call to their investor relations department would likely make them aware....
