Default POLL: Which one is the most corrupt/compromised Auction Company?

Is it Heritage, which will sell anything, no matter how dubious the provenance or severe the alteration? How about Mile High, known for selling complete sets where every single card has been trimmed? Perhaps Memory Lane, a company run by a guy (J.P Cohen), who was scamming people and diverting promised funds from sick children, veterans and the disabled while he was running his sports card/auction business? Lelands? Huggins & Scott? Sports Cards Plus? Clean Sweep? Hunt Auctions? How about online auctions PWCC, currently under FBI investigation, or Probstein? Someone else? Which is the most corrupt/compromised in its business dealings?

Maybe the question is, with which auction house are you most likely to be bidding on an altered card.

If you think every auction house under the sun is corrupt and compromised then it might be you who needs re-adjusting. Enough with the witch hunts.

Good question. Maybe I'll do that poll too. I think it would be close between PWCC and HA. Your thoughts?

Nice. I was wondering what Heritage might be the best of, from this list.

Not surprised by the results, so far.

I thought ebay was a pretty good answer too. Senior executives there, including the CEO, who gave the "go ahead," ran surveillance on and terrorized a couple who wrote a newsletter critical of the site. Pretty salacious stuff.

For sure. Add in eBay's protection and partnership with a couple names on your list and they absolutely fit in the category of corrupt and compromised companies.

At first I thought they were on hiatus but I guess they're still operational. I should have included them.

They all are and I'm not convinced that PWCC and Heritage aren't just brought up more often because 1) They sell more product 2) They have the most easily searchable databases

If I'm buying high grade cards I assume that there's a good chance it's been altered. And that's why lower grade rare/iconic cards > higher grade base cards
