Default The Rarest 1/1s?

Funny title, I know.

But was there ever a 1/1 series that was less talked about, looked cooler, and came from a bigger product than the platinum 1/1s from 2013 Topps?

I remember even when the product first released you hardly ever saw any of these pop on ebay. I was all over the site back then looking for Terrance Williams 1/1s and I had no idea these cards existed until some time in 2015.

I always wanted one of those. Got outbid years ago on a Haloti Ngata one. I thought for sure I was gonna win it.

But 2013 had 1/1's in every product. The rarest 1/1's were the 2003 Leaf Certified 1/1 shields. The only 1/1's in the set, at a time where any 1/1 was still impossible to find. And no watered down RC 1/1s either.

And the 1st ever 1/1 shield cards, put into packs. I has about 2 dozen of those 2003 shields at one time. And nearly 300 1/1 shields from certified to boot.

Back when 1/1, meant 1 of 1...

2003 Leaf Certified is an awesome, awesome looking set. Do you remember which shields you had?

The reason I decided to purge all of my 1/1 rookies from the 2010's is because of the oversaturation of 1/1 cards from that era. In the late 90s to early 2000s, 1/1s actually meant something.

The rarest 1/1s are and always will be the 1998 Showcase Feature Films Masters.
Only 10 in the set, these are ghosts. They are like the feature film insert, only the whole original slide is inserted and the card features the masterpiece purple foiling.

I'm quite happy with my 2014 Flair Showcase Row 0 1 of 1 Masterpiece of Mike Evans.

For the record, I own zero 2013 Topps platinum 1/1s. I was never able to find one for a player I collected.

Not to mention, having them called "platinums" during a time when Topps Platinum was big made searching for them on eBay nearly impossible.

Looks like he's a Non-Sports guy. They must be used to pumping the latest Disney Princess Pink Sparkle, Hello Kitty magical party parallel or Star Wars 1/1 Nerf Herder cards.

Who knows what goes on with those weirdos.

PM me on those Nerf Herder cards only if they have real nerf hairs in them.

reference to hair cards for the uninitiated.

Party like its 1999
gorgeous ladies of wrestling

And these can contend for least rare "1/1/of many"

I’ve only seen the Kevin Hardy $1996 phone card and it was roughly 2 years ago on EBay. A Blowout member has stated that a LCS received multiple rare cards from a Press Pass employee. What years the cards were from ? The pull rate per box made it possible to siphon the box and I didn’t even come close to pulling what the stated odds were.

By far the most rare cards. I purchased 3 cases and barely pulled $20 phone cards. Eddie George had inserts and I never pulled the rarest one and only pulled 1 second to rarest insert.
