Modesty is not welcome here.

Who/what product/insert were you right about from the very beginning, even before many had even thought about or considered it? Do you even have an old post to spotlight your greatness? Did you put your money where your mouth was? Would you consider yourself a founder in one of those hobby trends?

Also, who/what have you been right about being completely and totally overrated right from the start? Watched their hobby downfall in your glorious prognosticationability. Saw piles of cash burn down to a puddle of ashes?

I was buying Ohtani 2013 BBM cards before he came over.

A few months ago I found this in a commons box. I never even removed the wrapping. Completely forgot about it. It looks like it could grade a 10. A PSA 10 sold for over $3K recently.

2022 Topps Chrome Logofractor.

Said it was a no-brainer buy and spent ~$10k on it (way more than I usually spend on sealed wax).

Ripped a bunch of boxes (12-18) and made approximately $10k in profit over a span of months.

Resulted in a couple “free” PC items, notables being a 2009-10 Panini Crown Royale Stephen Curry RC auto /399 PSA 8 and a 2022 Topps Dynasty Baseball 5-Box sealed case.

I was buying '11 finest Mike Trout autos as much as I could in 2012, as it was the only on card auto I could find that looked nice. Sadly I sold most of them in 2018 ugh.

Was way early on Tatis (started the player thread). Sold a bunch early, but also did well on a bunch including his game used spring training debut jersey. Barely have anything left as I sold 99% of everything after he got busted

In a rare moment of brilliance and speculation, I once bought an Ohtani #700 Gold /2018 for 20 bucks, along with a rainbow foil and a bunch of base. Still have the gold and rainbow foil, and parlayed most of the base into a HHN chrome during this past season. That worked out nicely

On the other hand, I got sucked into the covid hype and still have a few Soto US300 PSA 10s that are worth far less than they once were. At this point they're just long term holds and see what happens, probably

The wins are fun, but overall I like just sticking to my Twins PC and not doing much of any gambling outside of that

I scored a 6-bone standing rib roast to cook the family’s holiday meal for 3.50/LB today. The regular price was listed at $145 on the package but I only paid $34 by stacking paper and digital coupons.

Gunnar Henderson. I was buying hand over fist all throughout 2019-2021, cashed out this year and bought a new Tesla paid in cash with lots left over. Love him as a player, but you’ve got to cash out when you hit like I did on him. Next up: Coby Mayo.
