I don't think anyone is saying that D2R is blameless, people are saying that he's a contributing member of this community and that certain individuals (myself included) disagree with his banishment. He hasn't scammed anyone nor has he ever (to my knowledge) destroyed what should be a healthy and informative debate with outright drama and trolling (and I can think of a few that do this constantly). Houdini has stated why he was banned and I can see where the moderators are coming from in regards to this situation. Honestly though, when was the last time an individual was banned and there was more than ten pages of conversation where everyone wasn't screaming for the member to be banned?

Go back and read my posts, I don't think I said a single time that he actually hit the report button. I accused him of being the one to call attention to the situation and to call Deathy out, things Ross has admitted to himself. It really doesn't matter though, it's been hashed out and we all know where each other stands, it is what it is.

Having read a lot of this thread and being friends with D2R, here's my two cents...

The forum just got more boring today. I'm sad to see Deathy banned. He was a fun member whose grand majority of posts were good or benign. He certainly pushed the envelope and even crossed the line from time to time. Though he absolutely never intended to cross said line; he certainly found himself on the other side of it from time to time.

I support the mods as their job is tough and they do a great job. I think people make a common mistake of taking the idea of "treating everyone fairly" and misinterpreting it as "treating everyone the same". The mods really have a handle on this concept and don't swing the banhammer lightly or with reckless abandon.

All that being said, I hope he finds his way back here one day. Was he banned before? Sure, but that was a couple of years ago. At some point the crime is old enough people should be forgiven and move on. Hopefully, one day we can do the same in this case. It's not like this stuff is life and death.

I'll miss my fellow Royals fan.

Nice sleuthing. It wasn't by any means bragging since it's not really something to brag about. Frequenting a forum where "jokes" like that happen doesn't exactly present me in a positive light, hence the Groucho remark.
