I see your point but my parallels draws closer to the point where earlier releases in both products were scarce due to limited print runs. Sure LE moments will never be minted again. But what happens to the value of those when future releases have enormous print runs?

The Shore Griffey was obviously mass produced. The Baller Ichiro and Ermsy Trout still had low print runs never to be created again like Series 1 and Series 2 Top Shot moments going LE.

The junk wax era of the 90’s affected the entire market in sports cards. Mass production lowers the value of those earlier rare cards as well as the present day mass produced ones.

This is correct. After the randomization process all of the spots in the queue are set. If you leave and come back you go to the last spot in line.

The reason I am not too excited about the long term value of these cards is my experience from the junk wax era. I pulled a /10,000 Frank Thomas Gold 1994 Leaf Limited in the card shop and it was a huge deal. Not many numbered cards even existed before that and it was going for big money back then.

When it comes down to collectibles I think that this will eventually follow the sports card model. The rookies with their badges, true superstars, certain inserts, and series 1 will hold their value.

You can. Think the email said they'd be open to get in line till 2pm PST. Something like that. Line moves slow. Like someone said, get in and go do stuff. If you're way back, it'll be several hours.

It has been 20 minutes and it changed about 4300 people. Figure around 2000 people every 10 minutes. It will be awhile...
