They're starting 3-4 guys on a nightly basis who frankly don't belong in the major leagues. It's been a mortifying year for Cashman and Hal and a long time coming.

It'll be interesting to see what they do - if anything - this offseason in a weak FA class outside of Ohtani.

I think they'll make a run at Bellinger but for a guy who has finally found himself in Chicago he may prefer to stay there. Of course his dad played for the Yankees and won a WS with them so he's always had ties to the organization. We'll see.

They need major league bats - especially LHH power. Preferably guys on the right side of 30 so you're not counting on Stanton in year 14/15 to be your second best hitter again.

Are we buying into the guy reporting that Cashman had deals in place to trade off like 5 players and Hal said no to all of it? Personally I'm a skeptic when this kind of reporting comes out, but the guy seems to not be totally bogus.

Deals supposedly in place to move Severino, Gleyber, Marinaccio, Wandy and Bader. Hal says no to all of it, but probably did so too late to go acquire anyone other than the two junk pitchers we did.

Why not just ship him back to the Republic so he can sit on a pile of sand with sticks and stones. Would work better.

Only if he's allowed to bring back the Maris sleeveless look.

Empathize much? Alcoholism is a disease, man. A nasty, nasty, nasty disease. If you haven't ever known anyone in the throes of it, then consider yourself blessed. If not ignorant.

Agree! You can have a family history of alcoholism or it can just grab a hold of you unexpectedly. Many try to get treatment, but it’s still always with them.

The perfect game was the anomaly, this is the type of thing I expect from German.

It doesn't sound so much like a "voluntary" rehab, as much as it does a "you'd better go or you're gone" rehab.

Umm, yeah, because all alcoholics and drug addicts get help on their own and when they're ready. And that's sarcasm. Most of us get help from friends, hence the whole intervention idea, AA, and therapy. Yes, you must ultimately be willing, but if I have to kick your ass to get you there, I will. God bless the Yankees for helping this guy and his family, whether he ever plays again or not.

Saw a stat today but no idea if true. In last 25 years with cashman as GM volpe currently ranks 3rd all time in WAR for players they drafted

Another off day for Judge, going to be tough to win a third game in a row. Maybe Severino will surprise us.

This one kind of feels like Boone being content with the L tonight.

Severino was going to give up runs, it was a matter of how many.

Only 3 runs is a win!

Severino is lucky he signed that contract at the absolute peak of his career.

He's done nothing since 2018.

I wish they could just come up to bat without being behind as often.
