Can’t wait to watch Spida dominate in Cleveland and the pistons development. Someone needs to sign Carmelo Anthony though..

Only thing I can think of is they may sit the starters in the next game and they wanted to run through some things - but man, Orlando was largely running the offense through Wagner, Paolo, and Wendell [check the streamable] - and absolutely getting whatever they wanted. With JJJ out at the start of the year, we're really gonna see what Ja can do - when his 3 isn't falling it can get ugly quick, especially vs athletic lengthy bigs like what Orlando has in spades. He still needs a consistent midrange yesterday, especially since his 3 ain't so hot. |

Lakers have struggles again this year and it's everyone else's fault on team from players to coaches except Bron as it's never any of his fault.

The Lakers team just isn't that good if we're being objective. Get past AD and Bron (Who will both likely miss a good chunk of games) and they have almost nothing. I would guess they are in the play-in at best and at worst miss the play-in as presently structured.

Herro's been pressing 350 front yard out in Day Day's crib all summer.
It's MGK's year.

Agreed, you’d need perfect health from AD and a vintage performance from Bron to do anything in the playoffs and even if you get both Warriors and Grizzlies are both better Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

people here sleeping on Mathurin so far...
https://streamable.com/1g0icj most predicting "tank" and/or "trade Turner" but what if Mathurin+Hali are too good right away for them to tank properly? They could be sneaky if some teams above them deal with harsh injuries. |

I’m watching the Lakers right now playing the Wolves, and they’re basically made up of 3 categories of players: aging stars, guys coming back from injuries, and unproven potential. It kinda looks like this to me:
Aging Stars: LeBron - I honestly can’t believe how good he still is for as long as he’s been playing. Literally more than 50% of his entire life has been as an NBA player. And he’s been near the top of the league in most of those years. Obviously his best years are behind him, most would easily agree to that. But, can he pull it together and be just great enough (at least in the postseason) to be the best player in a Finals? It’s a stretch, but you can’t rule it out 100%. Westbrook - His best days are clearly behind him as well, so can he adjust to become more of a role player if that is what’s best for the team? All the evidence in the world will tell us that’s impossible. But some will still try to convince themselves that it’s possible. Pat Bev - using the term “star” very loosely here, but he’s already been as good as he is ever going to be, so he’s not going to all of a sudden get better this season. But maybe the Lakers other stars are even better than expected, so Beverly won’t have to do as much except play some solid D and hit a couple 3s? He can do that, right? Schröder - using the term even more loosely here, I’ve never seen someone’s value drop so quickly and so drastically since maybe Ron Artest, so I don’t think anyone is expecting much from him. But still, maybe he can provide a spark off the bench? Guys returning from injury: AD - He’s seemingly always in this group, but he still has all the potential in the world. He already looks better in the preseason now than he did all of last year, so expectations are increasing by the day. If he can just stay healthy, this could be AD’s revenge year, where he tears through the league. Kendrick Nunn - I barely remember what this guy even looks like when he plays, because it’s been over a year and we didn’t exactly have a huge sample size of games to remember in the first place. But he had a few surprisingly good games his rookie year in Miami, so what the hell, maybe he can build on those small successes and get even better. Thomas Bryant - I do actually remember him showing flashes of being a pretty good player. But again, he’s still coming off a pretty significant injury so it remains to be seen if he can stay healthy and be a consistent contributor. The potential is still there though. Unproven potential: Lonnie Walker - he’s super athletic, but can he actually be a good basketball player? Maybe, maybe not. Austin Reaves - can he be a consistent 3-pt shooter in the NBA? If he can, then that’s exactly what this team will need off the bench. JTA - He seemed like he had some potential after winning a title with the Warriors last year. But was that just because he was playing for a better system in Golden State? Either way, he’s still young enough that everyone can bank on future potential. So just look at the crazy amount of things that would all have to go right, with absolutely nothing else going wrong - no injuries, no chemistry issues, no disappointing player performances - in order for this team to work. Or, you could talk yourself into the idea that they can still make a trade mid-season so you can’t judge this team’s potential based on who they have now vs who they might have in the playoffs. They could back into a killer deal before the deadline if some teams out there to decide tanking for Wembayama. And if they got rolling with the right team around playoff time, then all bets are off. I definitely would not bet on any of that happening, but I think those are the reasons why people will still keep talking about the Lakers all season long.

If Westbrook tries to make them implode, I think they will either send him home or give up the multiple firsts to move him. |
