But Kyle normally (not yesterday) is Gold Glove defense.

A team in playoff contention is relying on young pitching too much. They don't have anyone with legit SP killer instinct right now. Dipoto failed the trade deadline unless something happens sooner rather than later. Try cannot continue rolling out these inexperienced, young, average pitchers and expect to contend.

I'm the eternal optimist when it comes to the Mariners but it is getting really hard watching us send out AAA pitchers (except for Ramirez) and expect results other than what we are getting. I'm getting tired of seeing Cano and Cruz (and everyone else for that matter) drop the ball when we need a big hit or a double in the gap. Sometimes this team can play inspired and other times it looks like the Bad News Bears out there. That being said, we're still in this thing.

It was a good run this season for everything that happened. Unfortunately Servais will stay around and we'll do it all over again next year. Not much on the market this winter in the way of pitching so it'll be a roller coaster. Id love to see a run at hosmer or santana though.

Really just need to get some pitching in the offseason. Maybe look into a better conditioning coach. Wonder if that has anything to do with the amount of injuries we have had. Really gotta make a run next season. Cruz, Cano, and Felix are nearing their ends. Have a lot of nice young talent that hopefully continues to get better, and add some consistency

It's ridiculous!! What he did in that Angels series was insane. Vincent's last 17 apparences he's given up runs in only 1 of them. Most consistent guy we got and Servais uses Pagan and Zep in pressure situations

I think he wanted to wait until we got the lead to bring Vincent in, he seems to think Vincent is a lead only pitcher. And he does have a strange love for Pagan, and while he has done a good job for us, sometimes he goes to him at the wrong time.

Yeah it's definitely not looking good with 19 of the 22 remaining games against winning teams, but hey you never know, could come down to the wire again. I was there at the penultimate game last year when they were eliminated. That was a pretty tough loss especially with how the game ended.

At the end of the day when we look back at this season and all of the moves that DiPoto made to shore up the injuries, getting swept in August by the Angels will be the difference. I look at the WC standings and say if we would have just split that series, it would have made a dramatic difference in the last 19 games!

Was a great pick up. Good that he was picked up for more than just the playoff run this year. Considering Felix, Paxton, and Kuma(probably won't be here next season anyways) can't stay healthy, any solid arms we can get for the rotation are wins

yeah I wouldn't be opposed to them bring back Smyly either. I know he hasn't ptched for us yet, but would be really intrigued on how he would do, he's a quality starter who I think can be a good player for us. As we saw in the WBC, Smyly can dominate a good lineup...that's what we need

I'm good with the move too. A LOT of fans hate the move. We have had so many good prospects come through the system, only to fail at the major league level. We just got a known commodity(and hopefully some slot money:)) for what looks to be a good pitching prospect. Gordon is a .300 hitter who swipes 50 plus bags a year. I'll take the sure thing over hoping another one of our prospects doesn't fail to live up to expectations.

I did like Neidert, and thought he was a good future piece. Just like I stated, prospects are not guarantees

Man, I was really hoping to see Seattle go get another arm or 2 for the rotation. Not real comfortable with what we have. Paxton is an ace, but can not stay healthy. Man, I was really hoping to see Seattle go get another arm or 2 for the rotation. Not real comfortable with what we have. Paxton is an ace, but can not stay healthy. I love the offense. Add in another year of learning for Haniger. Hoping that Cano and Cruz haven't declined too much yet. Zunino has improved. I think the offense will score a lot of runs. Just need some arms that can give us 6-7 innings once in awhile

I honestly really like our batting lineup.. but our pitching rotation needed at least one more solid starter. Darvish would of made our starting rotation look much better, but we ended up adding NOTHING.

I predict we end up 3rd place in the AL West. I really hope the Mariners prove me wrong.

I actually agree. Watching him today made me sad. It’s like he lost his hand & eye coordination and lost a step with his defense. He has yet to have a hit in Spring Training. I hope it’s just rust. :(

Alright guys, another Opening Day upon us and our first Felix Day of the year! I was kinda bummed to see Paxton didn’t get the ball, but there’s always next year. I’m really excited about Vogelbach and with Nelson’s health issues, it looks like he should get some semi consistent playing time. Dee Gordon has really impressed me too, he looks like he’s been playing Center a lot longer than he has. I feel Paxton is gonna have a big year and I’m also confident Marco Gonzalez will make you forget about last year.

I’ll be in the stands Opening Day for the sixth year in a row and have a few more trips already planned (including possibly stopping in Oakland on a road trip to see my first road game). Who else is gonna be there Thursday night?

Was really excited when they signed him. Assumed maybe he would get 200-250 ABs. Was hoping for .260-.270 with solid D

Unfortunately this spring has been really ugly for him. Looked bad on D, and his contact was way down. Hopeful that it is just rust and he can live up to my reasonable expectations

When Sims and Blowers first got together, I loved the duo. Sims has gotten worse and worse though. Goldsmith and Blowers in the booth is the best.

Blowers and Goldsmith is the best announcing unit we have. Unfortunately we only get it 10 or 15 times a year. I’ve also noticed Simms hardly ever announces while we are in Houston...does it have something to do with his other announcing duties? Also, can we get rid of Ryan Rowland-Smith? The guy seems real nice but he just seems like an awkward high schooler reading the morning news over the intercom.

Yeah, it's cool that he is gonna end it with Seattle. But, this team is trying to compete. You only get so many players on your ML roster. If he is hitting .220 or less, you probably need to go find someone else to take that spot. It would bum me out, but I wanna see this team win
